Vissoie |
|
| It was in the early sixties that the local history and costume group decided to buy a dwelling representative of traditional Anniviard living. |
The patoisants museum in Vissoie is located in a house dating to the beginning of the 16th century (1506), situated in the very old central part of the town.
It houses a collection of a great number of objects depicting the everyday life of mountain peasants. It is also very representative of the type of dwellings that were very widespread in the Val d’Anniviers at the beginning of the 20th century.
Visitors will find a kitchen with a hearth and the usual kitchen utensils, a room with typical furniture from that time and everyday household items used during the long winter evenings, near the stone fireplace. In a nearby wardrobe there is a small collection of old uniforms, clothes and typical shoes. Under the apartment there is a cellar with the usual corresponding utensils.
